In the zone: Justin Bieber performs Santa Claus Is Coming To Town on the Today show on Wednesday
It's one of the most popular Christmas songs and has been covered by a string of pop stars past and present.
And despite recording a version for his seasonal album, it appears Justin Bieber doesn't know all the words to Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.
Performing the Yuletide classic on U.S. TV's Today Show on Wednesday, the 17-year-old got confused over the lyrics.
To tide over his mistake, Bieber repeated the verse 'he's making a list' several times instead of the correct lyrics.
Several times during the performance in the Today Plaza in New York, the Canadian star stopped singing altogether and danced around to cover for his error.
Despite being November, Bieber looked festive in a red $1,650 Junya Wannabe varsity jacket.
What a fetching jacket: The 17-year-old was wearing a pricey knitted $1,650 Christmas jacket
He was joined onstage by his mentor Usher, who discovered Bieber three years ago.
Addressing his protogee's alleged baby scandal, Usher said Mariah Yeater's claims that Bieber fathered her child was 'comes with the territory' of being famous.
When asked by TMZ.com if he had been at the subject of similar claims, Usher laughed and said: 'Not so much.'
Bieber is currently doing heavy promotion for his new Christmas album Under The Mistletoe.
The disc features duets with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men and includes classics such as The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) and Silent Night.

Bieber's lyrics faux pas came after he struggled to remember all the continents on The Late Show With David Letterman.
After Bieber said he's been to every continent in the world, the talk show host quizzed him to name them all.
The teen said: 'Asia, North America, South America... Um, Africa, Antarctica and the North Pole.'
After omitting Australasia and Europe, Letterman prompted him: 'Come on, you’ve been to both places, I’m sure.'
Bieber then added Australia, before the presenter dropped a hint: 'France...'
Finally, Bieber declared: 'Europe!'
