Weathering the storm: Kim Kardashian arrived at Los Angeles International Airport yesterday amid the scandal surrounding her ex publicist

Kim Kardashian has enlisted a heavyweight Hollywood lawyer to silence ex publicist Jonathan Jaxson who has claimed her 72 day marriage to Kris Humphries was a farce.

The reality TV personality has hired famed attorney Marty Singer who immediately filed a lawsuit to muzzle Jaxson.

On Friday, Jaxson told Los Angeles chat show Good Day L.A. that he worked for the E! star from 2007 - 2009 and that her second marriage was staged.

Jaxson said: 'Two weeks prior to her wedding she knew it was not something she wanted to do.

'Unfortunately they were obligated to honour contracts [with the E! network which had TV rights] otherwise they would have owed a lot of people a lot of money.'

According to TMZ, Kardashian is seeking $200,000 in legal damages from Jaxson.

Why so shy? The normally camera-friendly star tried to shield her face

Yesterday the 31-year-old reality star was spotted arriving at LAX airport in Los Angeles after wrapping up her scenes in Tyler Perry's new film The Marriage Counselor.

Perry, who is known for including Christian themes in his films, has come under fire from his loyal fans for hiring Kardashian to be a part of the project.

As photographers snapped away, the normally camera-friendly star kept her head down and tried to shield her face.

Perhaps her glamorous new cover of the Middle Eastern Haute Muse Magazine will put Kim in a better mood.

In her legal claim, Kardashian says that Jaxson only worked for her on one project which was a blog and that by speaking out publicly he has violated a confidentiality agreement.

Jaxson immediately took to his personal blog to say Kim needs to get her facts straight.

In a statement posted today he says: 'To the best of my knowledge, I have never signed an agreement dealing with confidentiality with Kim Kardashian.

'I have an agreement in my possession that does not have either parties signature on it,' Jaxson added.

Last week during an interview with New York's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Jaxson said: 'She's never gotten over [her ex Reggie Bush].'

Kim and 26-year-old NFL star Reggie were the subject of repeated engagement claims throughout their relationship.

The couple dated for around two years before initially splitting in July 2009. Two months later they got back together before ending their relationship again in March last year.

Keeping busy: After her recent trip to Dubai, Kim appears on the cover of Haute Muse magazine

Jaxson claimed he would often help Kim stage publicity stunts when he worked with her.

He continued: 'I staged several of the moments that the world has seen of her, such as a ring that we alleged was from Reggie Bush.'

The publicist talked about how he helped generate a fake engagement story between Kim and Reggie in 2007 by setting up paparazzi to take pictures of her leaving a Beverly Hills jewellery store.

She then sported a ring on her wedding finger in public - which Jaxson claimed is identical to the one Kris proposed to Kim with.
