Mini me: Madonna and her daughter Lourdes made a striking sight as they went out in New York City today
The saying 'like mother, like daughter,' has never been more true than with Madonna and her first-born Lourdes Leon.
The original Material Girl stepped out with her rock star in the making in New York City today for a family trip to a Kabbalah service.
This weekend is a special occasion in the Jewish calender as it is Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year.
The 14--year-old has certainly inherited her mother's unique sense of style as she strutted down the street in Doc Martin boots, patterned leggings and a black leather jacket, which is very similar to the one her famous mother is wearing.
Along for the family religious trip were adopted children, David Banda, dressed head-to-toe in white, and Mercy.
Following in her mother's successful footsteps, Lourdes took the hosting duties as they celebrated the first birthday of their Material Girl clothing line at Macy’s department store in New York earlier this month.

After the event, Lourdes, nicknamed Lola, attended the party and fashion show with Kelly Osbourne, daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne.
She took over as the label’s ‘muse’ after Gossip Girl actress Taylor Momsen was sacked for comparing its style to that of a ‘high class hooker’.
The party, held at a Macy's department store in New York City, included a runway show and an appearance by the Material mum herself.

Despite dressing so alike, Madonna told American magazine Us Weekly last year that she doesn't fully approve of Lourdes' style.
'If anything, I wish she'd dress more conservatively,' explained the 53-year-old pop star. 'How's that for irony?'
She said her daughter's style 'is inspired by kids she sees in hip-hop and ballet classes, European influences, bands she listens to. You could say it's in the DNA — but I could never tell her how to dress!
'She also comes to my photo and video shoots, pulls outfits together and gives her input to a lot of my fashion-designer friends. Whether it’s Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney, they always ask her what she thinks.'
