Cheeky: And & Dec burst in on Lorraine Kelly as she was getting ready for her morning show this morning, and were awarded with some tartan underwear

TV and radio audiences can expect a few interruptions to their regular broadcasts today.

Comedy duo Ant & Dec are gate-crashing as many sets as possible - live on air - to appear on as many shows as possible within 12 hours.

They will be collecting items from presenters to auction off for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day this Friday.

The pair kicked off proceedings on Daybreak, when they casually strolled on to the set in the middle of Kate Garraway's entertainment segment.

As presenters Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles welcomed them in surprise, Ant said: 'Sorry, can we interrupt. We hate to gate-crash, but we’re here because we’ve got a very special Comic Relief challenge going on.

'It’s our Big Red Nose Broadcast event, and basically we’re getting on as many TV and radio shows as possible to spread the word about Comic Relief this Friday and try to raise some money… and we’re nicking stuff basically, we’re nicking stuff for auction.'

Excuse us: Ant and Dec gate-crashed BBC Breakfast this morning and made off with the sofa

This won't do: Ant and Dec look unimpressed with the items originally offered up

He continued: 'We’re going to ask everybody we bump into if we can have something. And you’re going to start the ball rolling.'

Miss Bleakley quickly offered up her designer heels, with Chiles chipping in his own tan shoes.

But Ant and Dec were unimpressed, Ant interjecting: 'I’m thinking of something slightly bigger because this is going to get auctioned for Comic Relief. How about your sofa?'

Christine replied: 'Are we allowed to give the sofa away? Let’s just say yes!'

Think big: The pair were given Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles' shoes on Daybreak, but asked for the purple sofa as well

Adrian agreed: 'You can’t have it now because we can’t sit on the floor, but if you send the boys around after Friday, you can have the sofa.'

With the shoes and a promise of the big purple sofa, the boys then popped downstairs to visit Lorraine Kelly as she prepared to present her own show after Daybreak.

They burst in on her dressing room and the presenter, still with her hair in rollers, offered up a pair tartan underwear to each of the boys.

Surprise! They dropped in on Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning

She tweeted afterwards: 'Was raided by ant and dec today - they are so adorable - Sent them off with a tartan bra and knickers each - all in aid of comic relief!'

The cheeky pair then raced over to the BBC, where they dropping in on the BBC Breakfast Show.

Ant and Dec, both 35, also made off with a sofa from hosts Sian Williams and Bill Turnbull, and went one further, carrying the red lounge with them from the set.

We'll just nick a few things: They swiped a wine bottle, chopping board and some cake from the This Morning kitchen

Join the panel: And and Dec also popped in on Loss Women live on the air

Next stop was This Morning, where they stole items from the kitchen, including a bottle of wine from the fridge, some cake and a chopping board.

The boys have also visited Loose Women and Sky's At The Races, and the Red Nose Day Twitter feed has already warned Fearne Cotton to 'watch out'.

Later in the evening, the pair made an appearance on CBBC's Newsround and even popped up on QVC's Electrical Home Show, where they made off with goods including a television and a digital camera.

Adventure: They later stopped by Alan Titchmarsh

Ant and Dec were also seen being interviewed alongside Ronan Keating on The One Show, but didn't appear to be flagging after their busy day.

In between their television visits, the busy pair have also found time to drop in - or phone in - on radio stations.

They have gate-crashed Capital FM and Heart FM, where they scooped two tickets to Take That, so far.

The big haul: Ant and Dec were given a laptop, Nintendo, television, picture of a cat, Shrek figure, camera and a vase at The Electrical Home Show
