Short and sheer: Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon both wore see-through, mullet-style dresses on Britain's Got Talent last night

They are under intense scrutiny from millions of viewers every night, and Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon have really been stepping up their game in the style stakes on Britain's Got Talent.

The judges both chose sheer 'mullet' dresses on last night's live semi-finals episode, but achieved completely different looks.

While Alesha ended up with a sci-fi style in her ensemble, Amanda wore on-trend neon.

Miss Holden, 41, wore a white lace dress with neon yellow accents. She teamed the dress, which fell above her knees in front and draped to the floor behind, with a thin silver belt.

Amanda came very close to exposing a little too much in the see-through frock, with the peekaboo panels barely covering her modesty.

The mother-of-two complemented her dress with bright yellow nails, a very popular look at the moment - but missed the mark with her matchy-matchy floral shoes.

Peekaboo: Amanda wore a white lace and neon yellow dress, while Alesha's dress had a sci-fi motif, enhanced by her silver heels and belt

She would have been better balancing her ultra-feminine dress with more fierce heels and sleek hair, rather than her bouncy curls.

Alesha, 33, showed off her toned shoulders and legs in a racer-front gown with a short hemline at the front.

Her space-age print dress was paired with a silver belt and some seriously eye-catching silver heels.

Miss Dixon completed the look with a high bun piled on top of her head.

The night before, Amanda made headlines for her plunging black dress that displayed more than a hint of decollétage.

The J'Aton Couture design was the style winner of the night over Alesha's Aztec-inspired mini dress.
