PDA: Liz Hurley and Shane Warne didn't care who was watching as they enjoyed a kiss whilst watching the races in Australia

She may have been wearing an over the top headpiece but guests were more interested in Liz Hurley's PDA than her outfit.

The 46-year-old was in Australia enjoying a day out at the Crown Oaks Day spring racing carnival, but she wasn't watching the horses.

Instead she decided to have an intimate kiss with her fiance, Shane Warne, and didn't seem to care who was watching.

Even the fact that she was sitting with her new best friend, Sarah Jessica Parker, didn't put her off.

The two actresses appeared to have struck up a friendship at the event swapping fashion tips and enjoying champagne together.

Pucker up: The couple appeared to be attempting an air kiss as they watched the races

The Sex And The City star might have worn a piece of art work on her head yesterday, but today she left the outrageous accessories to Hurley.

At one point Parker, also 46, was seen pointing at Hurley's flamboyant floral head piece with quite a serious look on her face.

like your hat: Sarah Jessica Parker was seen admiring Liz Hurley's floral head piece at the Crown Oaks spring racing carnival in Australia

New best friends: The two actresses spent the day together chatting and watching the races

Parker is known for her trendy style - in particular her love of unusual hat designs by Philip Treacy - but onlookers could have mistaken their conversation as Parker giving the British star a telling off for copying her.

Hurley took to her Twitter page ahead o the event to thank the Irish milliner for the design: 'Off racing! Thank you Philip Treacy for divine hat.'

She also thanked Agnona for her white fitted dress and finished off her look with a snakeskin clutch bag.

Catching up: The two stars looked glamorous in their elegant dressed but Parker left the large head wear to Liz

Although Parker wasn't sporting a large hat, she still looked chic in a dip-dye pink dress but covered up in a long silver metallic coat with pointy heels.

Her wavy hair had been pinned up into a beehive and the only accessories that the actress wore was a chunky pearl necklace and a large jewelled clip in her hair.

The actress is Down Under to promote her latest film, I Don't Know How She Does It, but seemed to enjoy having a day off spending time with mother-of-one, Hurley, and Warne.

Toning it down: The mother-of-three wore a large jewelled clip in the side of her hair which was nothing compared to the large hat she wore yesterday

Not so outrageous: Parker opted against odd head wear for the races but wore a hat that resembled a satellite dish the day before

But Parker tore herself away from her new best friends to present jockey Danny Nikolic with the Crown Oaks trophy after he won the race.

The Australian racer looked chuffed to be receiving his silverware from the actress and couldn't tear his eyes away from her as they posed for photographs.

Starstruck: Parker presented winner of the race Danny Nikolic with his trophy but the horse racer was more interested in her

But secretly the Failure To Launch star must have felt green with envy when she spotted other female guests - who had also decided to follow the headpiece trend.

Hurley, 46, wore a white dress to match her orchid head piece, but someone else who wore flowers on their head to match their outfit was actress Joan Collins.

Loud and quiet: Joan Collins (Left) also followed the trend by wearing a bright purple head piece that matched her jacket but Rebecca Twigley toned it down in a cream dress with a bronze coloured fascinator

Lots of champagne: The actress was spotted with her husband Percy Gibson enjoying a drink whilst watching the races

The 78-year-old certainly stood out from the crowd in a bright purple jacket, with emphasised shoulders, and wore her matching floral headpiece with black netting over her face.

The British star wore a patterned dress with low heels and walked arm-in-arm with her husband, Percy Gibson, as she prepared to enjoy the races.

Another famous face who thought she'd try the trend was Australian model, Rebecca Twigley.

Where's Danni: Kris Smith looked smart in a suit whilst posing with Rebecca Twigley (Left) and another model Jennifer Hawkins

The 28-year-old wasn't so bold with the colour she wore, but her bronze feathered hairpiece looked great with her cream dress that had gold leaf detail on the front.

The mother-of-one posed with ex-rugby player, Kris Smith - who has a son with another Australian star, Danni Minogue.

Another model who the 33-year-old was cosying up to was Jennifer Hawkins.

The former Miss Universe winner looked like the odd one out with nothing on her head, but she did channel the floral feathered trend somewhere else - on her shoulder.

Wearing a one-sleeved baby pink dress, the 27-year-old wore her blonde hair in loose waves and finished off her look in a pair of patent peep-toe heels.

From blonde to brunette: The former rugby player was posing for photos with several females at the event

But Smith soon had enough of posing with blondes and was later seen with a tanned brunette female who also wore a rather large fascinator with a silver sequined dress.

The famous guests spent a lot of their time mingling in the Myer marquee at the racing carnival.
